On Making, and Keeping What It Teaches
SuperAdobe is a hands-on workshop in sustainable, earth-based construction at Kean University, run with The Mojave Center. The Happiness Collaborative took two roles at once: hands in the build itself, and authors of its visual record. Camille Sherrod led construction while I led documentation, capturing the process so the knowledge does not evaporate once the structure is finished. The premise is that the joy of making is itself a pedagogical outcome worth preserving. By treating documentation as part of the practice rather than an afterthought, the workshop becomes teachable, repeatable, and shareable well beyond the people who were physically present.
